Thank you to the 3rd and 4th grade parents who attended my presentation last night on MCAS and what to expect. Here are the slides I used as a backdrop for our discussion. Included near the end is a link to the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education's web site with lots of useful information for parents.

Here is the schedule for the March MCAS, too.

WES students and staff were SO happy today to host Bernard Woma and his dance company, Saakumu, to our community. I hope you will take a few minutes to watch the clips below.

THANK YOU to Jennifer Trainer Thompson for writing the grant and to WESE/Berkshire Taconic Foundation for bringing this amazing experience to our school.

Posted on Thursday, February 2, 2012 New Year's Gift

This movie, The First 76 Days of School, is my little New Year's gift to you. It's a compilation of many of the photos I've taken this year (up to "Day 76"). I realize we are now on Day 89, but I encountered many technical issues in trying to compress my enormous photos (not to mention two songs) into a format that would be friendly for posting here as well as usable from your mobile devices.

THANK YOU to Tom Welch for countless hours of patience and expert work-arounds in helping me get this movie up and running. We both learned a lot in the process - not the least of which is to set my camera to a less high-quality setting when taking pictures around school!

Cheers!

Joelle

pumpkin.jpgIt's part of the first grade curriculum to learn about the life cycle of pumpkins.  Today was their annual trip to the pumpkin patch.  But wait... Where were the pumpkins?  I hope you enjoy watching our intrepid first graders on the hunt for the Great Pumpkin.  Thanks to John Skavlem for the wonderful video!
