Located in the scenic northwest Berkshire mountains of Massachusetts, Williamstown is widely recognized for its artistic and cultural activities. Tanglewood, summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Jacob's Pillow, Williamstown College Museum of Art (WCMA), the Clark Art Museum, and the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (Mass MoCA) are located nearby.

Williamstown, a college town, is the home of Williams College, one of the oldest and most respected institutions of higher learning in the country. Williams College is host to the critically acclaimed Williamstown Theater Festival, winner of the 2002 Tony award in recognition of it's regional summer productions.

The natural beauty of the area is characterized by pristine lakes, rivers and forests, with a multitude of hiking, biking and skiing trails year-round. Mount Greylock is the highest Mountain Range in Massachusetts and borders Williamstown. Hopkins State Forest is also located in Williamstown.
