The lower level computer lab is used by students in kindergarten - third grade.  Each class comes in for a 45-minute session to work on various software programs.

During the morning there are reading groups that use the Lexia program and the Read Naturally program to promote reading fluency and comprehension.

During the afternoon, the students work with programs that build skills in specific subjects such as Math IXL, Symphony Math, and  Mathfacts in a Flash.  The students also use programs that build technology skills.    Examples of these are Type to Learn, a typing program for keyboarding skills, as well as Kidpix, an electronic drawing tool program that lets children create with the computer!

In addition, students watch short movie clips about specific subjects through a software program called Brainpop.  The video is shown to the entire class on the SMARTBoard.  Following the video clip there is an interactive quiz that the class takes via the SMARTBoard to reinforce what they have learned.

Below, you will find links to each of the grades.  In each link, you will find out what students are doing in the computer lab.
